Wesley Herring

Wesley “Wes” Wayne Herring Sr, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away on September 8, 2022. Wes was born on November 13, 1945 to Evelyn and Otis Herring. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glen Herring; and survived by his beloved wife, Krista Herring; his three children, Shanon Jarmon (Brian), Wesley W Herring II, and William Herring; along with grandchildren, Carson, Mary Ellis and Jackson. Wes served in Vietnam as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He started his own business, Medical Systems Company of the South Inc., which is where he worked most of his years. Wes had such a strong love for his family and friends. His dry humor and overwhelming kindness will be greatly missed by all.

A funeral service will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, Alabama, on Monday September 19, 2022. Services will consist of a visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm. All of Wes’s friends are invited to come celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to UAB Dept of Ophthalmology Critical Research Unit to support macular degeneration research. Wes suffered from macular degeneration which is the number one cause of blindness in the US. Donations can be mailed to the address below or online at the link below.
