Smith "Lowell" Ragan

Mr. Smith Lowell Ragan, "Lowell" to his friends and family, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 8, 2020 of pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 83. Lowell earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1957 from Mississippi State University in the School of Business and Industry. He was the president and owner of the Manufacturers Distribution Center of the South, Inc. "the Amazon" of the fastener world offering next day delivery to the southeast. He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Joyce Kirby Ragan and his son, Stanley Lewis Ragan. He is survived by his daughter, Selena (Charles) Ragan Nause; son, Lee (Ann) Drew; three grandchildren, Charles Nause, Taylor Nause and Stephanie Drew. He was a member of Homewood Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 202 at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South in Hoover.
