Shehadeh "Sam" Shehadeh, 62, from Chelsea, Alabama, passed away on October 5, 2021. He was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and came to the United States at the age of 19 to attend college at UAB. He lived the remainder of his life in the Birmingham area.
He often said, "I wasn't born in the South, but I got here as fast as I could".
Sam is preceded in death by his loving parents, and step-daughter. He is survived by Andrea Shehadeh, his wife of 24 years, and his daughter, Jenna Michelle Shehadeh. He had no siblings, but is survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, his step-grandson Kaden, and many life-long friends.
He was most known for his intense love of family. He cherished his daughter Jenna more than anything else, and he was proud of her every milestone. He also loved spending time relaxing at the beach, divulging in homemade baklava, or just staying home to watch a good movie. Sam was really proud of his Lebanese heritage and loved to share it with his friends and family.
He was known for his strong work ethic, but also had a fun, playful side. He loved playing tricks, and planning surprises for friends and family.
Sam had a passion for cars, especially sports cars. He spent his entire career in the auto industry, and at one point fulfilled his dream of owning a highline sports car dealership. When Jenna was born, he strapped a car seat in the front of his Porsche 911 and drove her to daycare.
His passion for life, his light and laugh, will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial service to honor his life will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 2 pm, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, Alabama, for family and friends.
