Robert "Bob" Withers

Robert “Bob” Withers was born February 8, 1947 to Ray and Loraine in Leesville, Louisiana. He was one of three sons born to them during his father's service in the USAF. Bob was extremely proud of his service to his country. He was in the US Coast Guard, Rank MM3, for 4 years. He then served in the US Army Alabama National Guard for 24 years achieving the rank of Sgt. 1st Class. Lastly, he was US Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Bob was a teacher by trade, teaching at Minor High School for 28 years as a welding instructor. During this time he also a school bus driver.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Charlotte; children, Beverly (Dennes) Hutto, Brian (Allison) Herr, Michael Withers; grandchildren, Jake Herr, Helen Herr; brother, Jim Mahan and Diane Mahan Bryson; and his nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00AM on November 17, 2022 11:00AM at the Alabama National Cemetery.
