Pinkney Tooson, Jr.

Pinkney Tooson, Jr., passed away on September 9, 2021. Most who know Pinkney knew him as “Buddy,” his grandchildren and great-grandchildren called him “Papa Shug.” Proverbs 18:22 “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord” He was a devoted husband of 56 years, a loving father of four children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren who loved him dearly.

Buddy was born in Hale County, Alabama to Rev. Pinkney Tooson and, Mrs. Annie Mae Tooson. He rededicated his life to Christ under the leadership of late Reverend T.H. Sconiers. On July 18, 1965 he was united in Holy matrimony to Jeanette P. Tooson (Net). He worked for Stockholm vall.

Pinkney was preceded in his death by his beloved sons late Cedric, late Steven (Late Tionne Tooson), late Officer Pinkney III.

He leaves to treasure his memories : Loving Spouse, Jeanette P. Tooson; the joy of his life; his only daughter, Janet Tooson Odom (Winfield Odom Jr.); Grandchildren Jasmine Odom (Emmanulito) Florissant, Winfield III, Winston Odom, Pinkney Alexander, Love , Cedric, Stephanie and Keonna Tooson; great- grandchildren Juliette, Zachary, Roman Florissant; Brothers, late Hayes Joseph, and Johnny Paul Tooson; seven sisters preceded in death Pinkie Mae Brown, Ethel Field, Wanda Allen, and leaves to cherish his memories ; Artelia King, Bertha Evins (Luther), Linda Chatman ( Bernard), Shirley Robinson.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The funeral service begin from the funeral home chapel at 12:00pm on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with Reverend Timothy Eric Nathan officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
