On the morning of July 26, 2022, Malinda Wills passed quietly from this life into eternal life at the age of 77.

She was born to Jeannette and Paul in Glendale, California in 1945. At the age of 18, she moved to Oklahoma and two years later she met Gene Wills at Oklahoma State University. They were married less than a year later in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. That same year, Gene and Malinda moved to Mississippi where they lived for the next 49 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Delta State University.

During her time in Leland she was very involved in life at First Baptist Church Leland. Her many roles included nursery care, leadership roles in Women on Missions, serving in various ways for Vacation Bible School, and leading Sunday School class when a substitute was needed.   She was active in various charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Operation Christmas Child. She loved serving her church and her community wherever she could. She also loved gardening, reading and spending time with her girls.

Malinda was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, her parents and her brother, John. She leaves behind two daughters, Jeanette (Chris) and Sherry (DJ) and six grandchildren: Sarah Grace, Andrew, Katherine, Jacob, Benjamin, and Matthew. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
