Lisa Mcclung

February 13, 1964 — June 5, 2022

Barbara “Lisa” McClung

Lisa’s beautiful, earthly life ended Sunday morning at 2:22 am, I had the honor and pleasure to hold her as she passed. She suffered immeasurably for over two months from her cancer. Never once during that time did, she do anything but use the opportunity to serve the Lord. Never once did she complain, never once did she give up. Her proclamation was that we must see the Lord’s big picture. She repeatedly said, there is so much more that we have yet to see. Lisa’s goal is to love one another and to serve without fail. Nothing is more important to her than family. I am married to Lisa, and I love Lisa more than life. 33 years ago, she saved my life and my soul. Her mother is Ruth Palmer, her brother, Jim Coble and her children are Amanda Lilley , Mary Beth McClung, and Michael McClung. Her son-in-law Nathan Lilley, and her granddaughter Olivia Lilley. Her cat’s name is Mia, and her dog is Gunner. Lisa loves her family with a unique passion bestowed by her creator. Her family loves her to the moon. She served her creator in hospice care with great devotion and heartfelt love. Each patients’ dire needs were her life’s goals. Lisa always saw the best in everybody, even those who didn’t deserve it. Her courage, extraordinary, her faith, unyielding and her love, boundless. She just wanted us to all love each other. Please join us and love her as much as you can love her and maybe, if we try hard enough, she can feel it.

Please join us in the celebration of her life on June 9th from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at  Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Paster DeGreen will speak at 6:30 PM in the chapel.

A description of Lisa’s work at Oasis Hospice is described below:

Lisa McClung has served as the Volunteer Coordinator for Oasis Healthcare since 2018. She was dearly loved by her coworkers, her volunteer team and the patients and families that she served. Lisa’s personality matched her job perfectly. She was charged with providing companionship to people at the most difficult time of their lives. Lisa loved what she did because of who she was as a person. The Oasis Healthcare family will miss Lisa, her smile, her kindness, and her wonderful heart for serving others.

Oasis Healthcare is an affiliate of Brightspring Health Services. The mission of the BrightSpring Hospice Foundation is to provide hospice patients and their families with essential non-hospice support of which they are unable to otherwise afford. We find comfort in knowing that all patients and their families can receive assistance beyond personalized and uplifting hospice care. The gifts provided help ensure that hospice patients and their families who seek assistance will have their end-of-life needs met beyond the limitations of hospice services. Your generous donations will help neighbors in your local community.
