Kyle Rutherford

Kyle Rutherford, Sr., of Birmingham passed away May 25, 2021, at the age of 81.

Kyle was an avid fisherman and a lifelong mechanic, spending part of his time working for the City of Hoover. He spent most of his time fishing at Lay Lake.

Mr. Rutherford was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Eugene Rutherford and Mildred Lacey Rutherford, and siblings, Wanda Game and Bobby Gene Rutherford.

He is survived by his son, Kyle Rutherford, Jr.; stepchildren, Sherry Ann Goodwin and Kenneth Wayne Goodwin; and his grandchildren, Mallory Jade Goodworth, Reed Eland Rutherford, and Reese Ann Rutherford.  He is also survived by his siblings, Donald “Buck” Rutherford and Martha Howard, and special niece, Stephanie Rutherford, all of Birmingham.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 7, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Highway 150.  The family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shelby County Humane Society.
