Kenneth Williamson

January 24, 1959 — April 25, 2020

Vestavia

With his family close around him, Ken Williamson passed away peacefully Saturday, April 25, 2020. Preceded in death by his parents, Peggy (Crowson) and James Williamson of Trussville, AL, Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Teresa (Venz), sons Kyle, Atlanta, GA and Brody, Charleston, SC; sisters Micki Mugnier, Birmingham and Sheila Wardy (John), Birmingham; his uncle Harold Crowson (Jeanette), Ft. Walton Beach, FL; nieces Carolyn Mugnier, Birmingham and Brittany Noojin (Casey), Blountsville; nephews Chris Mugnier (Randa), Gulf Shores, AL, Quinn Wardy, Birmingham, Colin Alexander, Birmingham, Sean Alexander, New York City, and Philip and Adam Doss, Birmingham, one great nephew, five great nieces as well as numerous extended family and friends.

A graduate of Trussville High School, Ken completed his Bachelors degree in Geotechnical Engineering at The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1985. He began his professional career with Ground Engineering as a Project Manager, moving on to Gallet Engineering in the early 1990's, and finishing his career with Terracon Consultants.

While proud of his professional work, Ken's greatest legacy is his two sons Kyle and Brody. His heart filled with pride as he and Teresa guided these two boys into the fine young men they have become each now beginning their own professions, Kyle as a Logistics Planner with Westrock in Atlanta and Brody as a Business Coordinator for the Medical University of South Carolina. With the boys in tow, Ken and Teresa enjoyed 20 years of visits to their beach house in Fort Morgan, AL a place of family memories and gatherings of their close-knit extended family and many friends. Ken was great to travel with and his sense of humor often provided comic relief when plans didn't work out as anticipated. That sense of humor will be greatly missed, as will his generous spirit, his warm smile, his fascination with the weather, which kept us safe, and his love of trains and Jimmy Buffett.

A devoted Catholic he was a member of Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Hoover, AL for the past eighteen years. The small family service will be held at the church. With heavy hearts we say good to our Dear Husband and Loving Dad, our Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. We know that you are resting in the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bessemer, AL, or to the charity of your choice.
