James Van Buren Parson of Pleasant Grove, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the age of 69. James was born on March 10, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama to James and Jean Parson. He graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1973 with a double major in Business and Economics and went on to serve as a firefighter for the city of Homewood for 32 years, as well as, Treasurer of the Firefighter's Union. On August 2, 1975, he married Laura Leigh Clark and together they raised three daughters: Jennifer, Amanda and Kimberley. He had many hobbies such as gardening and reading, but his truest passion in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He lived a life of complete devotion to his family as a loyal and loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother and T-Paw.
He is preceded in death by his father, James S. Parson.
He is survived by his wife, his soulmate, Laura Parson and their three daughters: Jennifer Veitch, Amanda Martin and Kimberley Wehby. His grandchildren: Kaylea Sisson, John David Veitch, Michael Veitch and Luna Wehby. As well as, his mother, Jean Parson Jordan and his sister, Kriste Lytle.
The Memorial Service originally scheduled for Saturday in his honor will be temporarily postponed and announced at a future date.
