George Lee Jr.

George Seymour Lee Jr., beloved husband, father, son, uncle, and friend, of Birmingham, AL passed away March 27, 2021 from cancer at the age of 69. Born November 30, 1951 in Mobile, AL to Seymour and Joyce Lee and was the oldest of 4 boys. He graduated from The University of South Alabama in 1972. He started his career with Biomedical Laboratories in 1973 and retired from from LabCorp in 2011 after a total of 38 years. He loved RV camping, hiking, Alabama football, and most of all his family. He was an advocate for the special needs community and previously served as a board member for the Exceptional Foundation of the Gulf Coast.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Seymour Lee, Sr. and his brother David Arthur Lee.

He is survived by his wife of over 42 years Glenda Joyce Lee; 3 children Allison Lee Dolan (TJ), George Robert “Bobby” Lee (Michelle), and Rebecca Erin Lee. He had four grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Crawford, Georgia, Cara Lynn, and Callie; his mother, Alice Joyce Lee; two brothers Andrew Heard Lee, and Bruce Norman Lee (Mindy); 5 sister-in-laws; 5 brother-in-laws; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the Currie Jefferson Funeral Home, Friday, April 2, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with a one-hour visitation prior to the service.
