Command Sergeant Major Thomas Tinney Jr.

Command Sergeant Major Thomas Tinney Jr., 89, of Pelham, AL passed away on November 22, 2020. CSM Tinney retired from the U.S. Army after proudly serving for 23 years and taught ROTC for the Birmingham School System for 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his son, Doug Tinney; and stepson, Rodney Puckett.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Tinney; sons, Daniel Tinney (Barbara) and Russell Cash (Kim); daughter, Donna Von Hagel; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The graveside service will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South with Pastor Daniel Lee officiating.
