Betty Lou Baumgarten passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and precious friend to so many. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, where she met her husband, Dick Baumgarten and they had their two daughters, Lynn and Lee. The family moved to Birmingham in 1968. She spent her life dedicated to making a wonderful home for her family. She was always active in her church, neighborhood, and many organizations, where she developed life-long friendships. She is survived by her husband Dick, daughters Lynn Hulberg, and Lee Segrest (Chuck), 4 grandchildren, Lisa Gambrell, Paul Gambrell (Michelle), Michael Segrest (Destiny), Greg Segrest (Melissa), 2 step – grandchildren, Philip Hulberg (Jennifer), Susan Carter (Jeremy), several great grandchildren, two nieces, Ginny Kreisel and Sandy Connor who loved her like a mother,  a host of family, friends, and her beloved dog, Maddie. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Walters, her mother Clara Walters, sister Virginia Welle, and nephew Werner Welle. She was a lovely person who touched so many lives. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. We are so thankful for the 92 years she was on this earth and after a life well-lived now rests in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to Oakmont Chapel Presbyterian Church or Christ the King Lutheran Church.
