Obituary

Audrey Glancey Triche Barovechio, 89, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 2, 2022, in Hoover, Alabama where she resided for the last four and half years. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 6, 1932, to Burnett and Eva Glancey and raised in Algiers, Louisiana by Roy and Camille Durgin. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Joseph Raymond Triche and husband of 10 years, Frank Paul Barovechio, Sr. and brother Mickey Glancey. 

She is survived by her four children; Joann (Brent) Rome, Roy (Debbie) Triche, Bernie (Beth) Triche, and Barry (Jean) Triche, six grandchildren; Jason (Lauren) Rome, Jamie (Michael) Smith, Amy (Johnny) Fendt, Ben (Jessica) Triche, Weston (Jordan) Triche, and Drew (Erica) Triche, and thirteen great grandchildren; Joseph, Sam, and Annie Rome, Mason, Audrey, and Emily Smith, Tristan Fendt, Olivia, Nate, and Austin Triche, Graham Triche, and Sutton and Collins Triche. She is also survived by three loving sisters in laws and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Audrey cherished her wonderful friends as a longtime resident of Airline Park and Saint Mary Magdalen Parish. Later in her life she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Slidell, Louisiana and Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover, Alabama. 

She graduated from Martin Behrman High School and Our Lady of Holy Cross College in Algiers, Louisiana.  She was employed by Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School and Saint Benilde Catholic School, Federal Reserve Bank, and First Parish Court in Jefferson.

“Miss Audrey” always had a beautiful smile and enjoyed a good time socializing with family and friends and was a joy to all her knew her. She was awarded The Order of St. Louis Medallion for her time and talent to Saint Mary Magdalen Church in 2005 by the Archdiocese of the New Orleans. She was a past member of the Merry Magdalens Senior Group, Saint Jude Society, Past President of the Jefferson Lions Club Ladies Auxiliary, Senior Citizen Group of Metairie, Saint Mary Magdalen Ladies Altar Society, and The Lay Carmelites. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana on Friday April 8, 2022, from 9am to 11am with a funeral mass to follow at 11am.  Graveside service and interment to follow at Garden of Memories.
