Arlice Stanford

Pleasant Grove

Arlice Oneal Stanford born Sept. 14, 1930 passed away Jan. 13, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary Grace Stanford; son, David Oneal Stanford; granddaughter, Summer Dawn Stanford; grandson, Rodney Lane Lyford; and beloved brother and best friend, Calvin “Mack” Stanford.

He is survived by his sister, Iva Sue Smith; his children, Cindy (Billy) Gray, Nola Stewart, Terry Johnson, Patty (Jim) Mosier, Barbara (Claridge) Jones, Tommie Sue (Billy) Hill, Eddie (Jan) Godsey, Joe Godsey, and Donna (Harry) Self.

He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served from 1947 to 1951 with an Honorable Discharge.  He was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge in Pleasant Grove, AL and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove as well.  He was fun-loving, loved his extended family of twenty grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed.

Special thanks to his family and friends that were with him to the end; Nola Stewart, Rebecca Godsey, JoAnn Bender, Carl Gross, and Marian Henderson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 form 5:30pm to 6:00pm at Bethel Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove, AL. The funeral service will begin at 6:00pm in the church sanctuary.
