Ann Holsten

Ann Marion Johnston Holsten 86 a long-time resident of Bluff Park in Hoover died Thursday, July 21st at Kirkwood by the River after a long illness. Mrs. Holsten was born on January 7, 1936 to C.L. and Mary Edna Johnston. She was a long-time kindergarten teacher at Miss Jewel’s Day Care in Bluff Park, later in life she trained to be a legal secretary and worked in that field for several years. After retirement, she enjoyed singing with the Dawsonaires Choir. Ann was married for over 50 years to Frank Holsten.  She is survived by her son Mark Holsten, her brothers, Terry Johnston (Kay), David Johnston (Pat) and Samuel Johnston (Gail); She also has several nieces, nephews plus great nieces and great nephews all of whom she loved dearly. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Kirkwood by the River and Affinity Hospice for their care of Mrs. Holsten.
