Giles Aaron Huffman, age 76 of Parkwood, Alabama passed away on May 21, 2022. Aaron was born in Weir, MS to Giles and Gladys Huffman. He served in the Navy from 1967 to 1971, before meeting and marrying the former Ms Bettye Jane Williams, and settling in Parkwood. He worked a long and prosperous career with South Central Bell, Bellsouth and AT&T. Ultimately, his hard work would take its toll, requiring him to retire after 37 years. When he wasn't working, he was a busy man whether it be attending the game of the week, feeding random strays, delivering TJ's BarBQ or fried chicken to his wife, or running errands for whoever needed Aaron to run. Somehow he balanced work with the needs of all the women in his life, including his Mother-in-Law and her sister.
Aaron was born to be a Father. He was the quintessential Dad, corny jokes included. Just ask him "weir" he is from.
He took great pride in everything he did. He loved to work in the yard and to explore God's creation. Sunday's in the 80's he could often be found leading a gang of neighborhood kids on some wilderness adventure or helping them live out their hobo dreams while walking the train tracks.
He unselfishly worked all his life to provide security and stability, the whole while setting the example of service to others pays back tenfold.
Aaron is survived by his two daughters Kim, and Kady, Son in Law Bronson Kilgore, granddaughter Kara Kilgore, his siblings Martha, George, Malana, Ramsey, Louis, and Andy. He is preceded in death by his wife Bettye Huffman and brother John. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 1 to 2 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to your favorite charity or take time to make someone's life more cheerful.
