Wayne Shoemaker

Wayne L. Shoemaker, 78, of Hueytown, passed away on August 13, 2023. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, James "Buck" and Madge Shoemaker. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan Shoemaker; son, Greg (Kristi) Jarrard; grandson, Caleb Jarrard; granddaughter Morgan Beasley; sister, Linda Crouse, Tucson, nephew, Tom Crouse, Nevada; special friend Jeff Nivens, and his loving caregiver Callie Scalisi. Wayne was a 1963 graduate of Ensley High School and attended the University of Montevallo. He retired from Alagasco after 37 years of service. Wayne was an avid deer hunter. He loved his cat, Jack, who is 19 yrs old. Wayne enjoyed vacations with his family in Panama City. Visitation will be August,18, 9-10 A.M. at Currie Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Hoover, Alabama. Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Winslett officiating.
