Vladimir Garry Neumann

Vladimír (Vlado) Garry Neumann passed away on September 9, 2025 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, witnessed WWII, and managed to escape the Iron Curtain under Communism in 1967 with family to build a better life in the US. Vlado worked 25 years as a highly respected electrical engineer at KCPL in Kansas City and was a lifetime member of IEEE. He always enjoyed exercising - gym, running, swimming, biking, hiking in the Colorado mountains and waterskiing by their Lake of the Ozarks vacation home. He retired to Navarre Florida spending 25 years in their dream house, taking daily long walks by the sound and MacGyvering lots of home projects. He also traveled to Europe and realized the dream of piloting a small plane at age 70.
Vlado was preceded in death by his brother Otto and sister-in-law Marta, niece Otília and brother-in-law and best friend Fred Baldauf. He leaves behind his cherished devoted wife of almost 71 years Mira, beloved daughter Yvette, wonderful grandson Clint (Erica), great-grandsons Benjamin and William, sisters-in-law Valerie and Viola, nieces Andrea and Susan, and other close extended family in Europe and the US. He was much loved and will be missed.
