Tracy Payne

Tracy Payne, 62 years of age, passed on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in the peace of her own home in Pelham, Alabama.

Tracy was born November 11, 1962, in Birmingham, AL to Midge Young and Samuel Russell. She was the oldest of two children, Suzan Sample being her younger sister. Tracy attended Pelham High School in Pelham, Alabama.

Tracy married Richard Payne in 1980 and had two sons Joshua Payne and Zachary Payne. Tracy and Richard raised their family in Pelham, AL and for many years attended Pelham Baptist Church. Tracy loved working school events and was on PTO when her sons were growing up. She enjoyed helping others as she worked on these committees.

Tracy loved spending time with family, laughing and always smiling. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother and friend. "To know her was to love her."

Tracy leaves to cherish her loving memory of her husband, Richard Payne, her parents, Midge Young (late husband Pete) and Samuel Russell (late wife Rebecca) , her father in law Willard Payne (late wife Lou), her sister Suzan Sample (John), her two son's Joshua Payne and Zac Payne (Ashley) three grandchildren Marcella, Mikayla and Brayden Payne, her niece Staci (JJ) who was like a daughter from another mother, nephew's Adam(Maureen) and Chris(Candace) and many great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday November 13th, 2025, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home from 1pm until 2pm with a funeral service to follow. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home is located at 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244.
