Tonie Hughins Mabius

Mrs. Tonie Hughins Mabius, 79, of Pelham, Alabama entered the arms of Jesus on March 7, 2026. She was born in Birmingham, AL on November 27,1946. She spent most of her life in the greater Birmingham area. She met the love of her life, James Albert Mabius, in 1965 and married him later that same year. They were happily married for 59 years. Tonie spent her career working as a bookkeeper and CFO. She was a godly woman who served the Lord faithfully for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Pelham.

She is survived by her daughter Annette Mabius Hauswirth (Daniel), daughter Holly Mabius Gallagher (Patrick), grandchildren, Chris Majerik (Jessica), Sawyer Gallagher (Kelsey), Katie Duchock (Keifer), Cody Duchock, Amber Gallagher, Shea Gallagher, and Jessica Hauswirth, her great grandchildren Everlie Gallagher, and Bert and Tom Duchock, her sister Gale Hughins Chandler and brother David Hughins(Carole).

She is preceded in death by her parents Clinton Oscar Hughins and Sarah Thomason Pounders, her sister and brother-in-law Linda and Bill Maddox, and her brother-in-law James Chandler.

A receiving of friends will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home from 10am-11am and a service to follow. She will forever be loved and truly missed by her family and friends!
