Sue was born in Westover Air Force Hospital, near Springfield, Mass to Phyllis (Brown) and Milton Raymond Lemieux. In 1964, the Air Force transferred the family to Tripoli, Libya. After the Six-day War in 1967, Sue, her mother and brother moved to Dover, Delaware while Mr. Lemieux was stationed in Thailand as a Master Sergeant.
Sue graduated from Caesar Rodney high school in 1977. Sue attended the University of Delaware earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Sculpture in 1982. She excelled in slab work and coil pots, as well as the pottery wheel. She also made ceramic jewelry, beads and earrings. Her friends cherish the works she so generously gave as gifts over the years. Sue moved to Athens, Georgia after college, working in several restaurants before moving to Birmingham AL. Sue ran a dessert catering business there before opening Fox Valley Restaurant with her longtime friend Anthony Mangold. They brought Maryland -style crab cakes to the area and made Fox Valley the place to go for "Steak and Cake", along with other great seafood from the gulf. The restaurant successfully ran for 27 years in Maylene/Helena Al.
Sue enjoyed her retirement in Helena AL. She lived in a picturesque A frame house on the last ridge of the Appalachian Mountains. She was painting very vibrant graphic designs in acrylic and torching and hammering copper jewelry during this time. She also reconnected with many old friends. Able to travel now, visits to Hilton head, Bald Head Island, Colorado for skiing and Las Vegas were common.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis (Brown) and Milton Raymond, and her maternal aunts, Rita Brown and Pauline (Po) Martin. Sue is survived by brother Paul (Cathy) and nephew Adam and niece Sarah of the Chicago Area. Beloved by her cousins Michaelan Martin and Jeff Martin.
