Stephen A Sellers, born in 1950 in Birmingham,Alabama, passed away on August21,2026, at his home in Cullman, Alabama. A gentle and caring man whose life was defined by his deep faith and love for his family, Stephen leaves behind a legacy of kindness that touched everyone who knew him.
Stephen grew up in Birmingham and called Alabama home his entire life. Among his proudest moments was his marriage to Sharon H. Sellers, the love of his life and his constant companion through 57 years of marriage. Together they built a beautiful family and a home filled with warmth and devotion. Stephen was a man of simple joys and genuine character. He loved cheering on Alabama football, and few things made him happier than spending a Saturday watching the Crimson Tide. He and Sharon also shared a love of travel, exploring new places together, and making memories that their family will always treasure.
Stephen was know by those around him as a gentle and caring soul, a man whose Christian faith wasn't just something he professed but something he lived every single day. He was an active and devoted member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Hueytown, and later Temple Baptist Church in Cullman
Where he served his church family with a quiet and steady faithfulness. His walk with the Lord was the foundation for everything he did, and he carried that light into every room he entered.
Stephen's professional life of 52 years included 40 years with Bellsouth and 12 years with Personal Liberty media group.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Sharon H. Sellers; his three daughters, Tiffany S. Sellers(Layne), Amber M. Spano(Tony), Feather S. McCooey(Sean), his eight grandchildren. He also left behind his sister Patti Tinney and many nieces and nephews. Each of them carries forward the love, faith, and gentle spirit he instilled in them.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 28, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m at Currie - Jefferson Memorial Home in Hoover, Alabama. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
Stephen lived his life trusting in the promise of his Savior, and his family finds peace in the words of Psalm 23 the lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me besides the still waters, he restoreth my soul; Stephen now resides in those green pastures, forever in the presence of his Lord.
