Stella Mae Townley, of Pelham, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the age of 70.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Ed Cox Sr. and mother, Orpha Cox, 1 brother, Franklin D Cox and 3 sisters, Gracie Cox, Myrtle Morgan and Dorcas Partridge.
She is survived by her son, Jim Townley (Janet) and daughter, Deborah Staton (Jerry) and grandchildren, Carissa Nelson (Kevin), Austin Townley, Wynter Townley, Janis Wallis, Jennifer Morgan, Jessica Knight (Adam), Josh Faught (Mandy) Jacob Staton (Niki), Julia Hill (Brandon), Jeri Herring, 6 great grandchildren, two brothers, James Ed Cox Jr. (Nora Lee) and Charles H. Cox Sr. (Donna), and 5 sisters, Evelyn Jones, Mayo McCombs (Paul), Daisy Pilkington (Ronnie), Lilly Phillips (Jim) and Jean Collum (Jack), sister-in-law, Mary Cox, expecting great granddaughter and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 29, 2013, from 1-2 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow at 2 PM with Pastor Greg Davis officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
