Shawn C. Wandry

Shawn C Wandry was born in Aberdeen, SD and moved to Birmingham, AL area at age 7 to live with his Mother, Diane, and his brother, Jesse (4).  He lived much of his childhood in Birmingport, AL near the Black Warrior River teaching himself and his bothers to swim and fish.  He was a gifted athlete and excelled at basketball and football  He was a passionate and loyal Univ. of Alabama football fan and never missed watching them play from a very early age and throughout his life.  Shawn attended Oak Grove High School.  At age 16 he began sweeping floors at Parker Tool & Die to pay for a car and insurance and ended up working there for almost 14 years learning to be a valued machinist and tool & die maker.  He met his beautiful, loving wife, Kim, in his early 30s and they were married on Sept 7, 2004.  He and his loving daughter, Haley, joined Kim and her two sons, Zach and Connor.  Shawn loved and enjoyed them very much.  Shawn and Kim were particularly close to Shawn’s brother, Jesse, and his wife, Lori.  The two couples spent many fun times together on the lake, vacationing to the beach and other fun places, and attending Alabama football games.
Shawn joined Smith Companies in Pelham, AL in 2005 and will be missed significantly by his business family because of the important impact he made during 17 years of loyal service.  He ascended through the ranks and reached many successes including the roles of Mechanical Operations Manager at Smith Companies and all its manufacturing divisions as well as the role of General Manager of Smith Machine Worx.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Troncalli Wandry; his daughter, Haley Wandry; his parents, Diane & Mike Angstenberger and Gerald & Betty Wandry; stepsons, Zach Burger & Connor Burger; a sister, Pamela Merxbauer; brothers, Jesse Wandry, Jeremy Angstenberger and Greg Wandry; a niece, Ashley and a nephew, Daniel.
Shawn will be missed greatly by his family, friends, and co-workers, and no one can take his place in the hearts of those he left behind.
There will be a memorial service to honor Shawn on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover.
