Ruth Long

Mrs. Ruth Hazel Long, age 87, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at home. Ruth was a long-time member at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy E. Long and parents, David and Eva Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Katrina Beck (Larry), Eddie Long, Sandra Edge (Keith), Randy Long (Gina), David Long, and Dale Long. She has 8 grandchildren, Tonya Lagrone, Candice Hoops, Jason Long, Chris Long, Brandon Hoops, Heather Nelson, Heather Letts, and Lindsey Abbott; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth’s services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 2:00pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Hoover with a visitation 1:00pm to 2:00pm. A chapel service to follow at 2:00pm and burial to follow at the adjoining cemetery.

She will be missed by all who knew her.
