Ruby Bennett

of Birmingham, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2005, at the age of 81. Mrs. Bennett was a member of First Baptist Church of Birmingham, Lakeshore, and was actively involved with International Goodwill groups for the past 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Orus L. Bennett of Birmingham; three sons, Gary L. Bennett (Kay), Don L. Bennett (Linda) and Alan G. Bennett (Jacquelin), all of Birmingham; six grandchildren, Brian, Kenneth, Samuel, Matthew and Jessica Bennett, and Missy Manning; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Daulton Manning; a brother, Melvin Davis (Marion) of Birmingham; and two sisters, Alma Hoover (Joe) and Jean Lewis (Bill), both of Washington, MI. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 19, 2005, from 6 to 8 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Anton Fouree officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
