Roy Franklin Ellas

Roy Franklin Ellas, age 91, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama passed away on April 19th, 2026.

Roy was a master electrician and the owner of Kirkpatrick Electric in Birmingham. Roy served in the 101st Airborne division of the Army for 2 years.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Betty Ellas; his eldest daughter Regina E. Barnes of Pell City; three grandchildren, Jonathon L. Ellas, James R. Cooper, Jr., and Maria J. Miller.

Roy leaves behind his two children; John W. Ellas (Cherry) of Houston, and Tammy E. Miller of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Grandchildren; Tearsa A. Harlan, Beverly L. Kuykendall, Matthew L. Barnes, and Amanda Browning. Roy was also blessed with numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 12pm until 1pm, with a funeral service following at 1pm.
