Rosemary Ledlow

January 8, 1928 — August 7, 2025

Rosemary Ledlow, age 97, passed away peacefully August 7, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family.

Born January 8, 1928 in Joy, Alabama to Otto W. Faile and Lona A. Faile. Rosemary, a curious child, was fascinated by the old pump organ on her Grandmother's back porch. Testing and playing until music happened. Her love of piano and singing led to a lifelong career in entertaining. Rosemary shared her gift and loved to sing "requests" anywhere there was an audience, at church or family gathering. She played by "ear". If you hummed a few notes of a song, she could put it to music.

Rosemary was beautiful with a sparkling personality that opened the door to play for nightclubs and piano bars. Anyone from Birmingham can remember the Rosemary at Gulas Restaurant sign on 78. She had many other jobs, at times a secretary, stenographer, and typist, but she owned the spotlight as an entertainer.

As life can surprise, Rosemary, in her 50's, found Bobby Ledlow, a widowed retired Fireman and fell in love. She always said that "God put them together". They were together for 25 years till his death in 2009.

She leaves behind her brother David Faile, wife Sharon; her son Steve Stubbs, wife Mary; her son Ken Daily, wife Carole; her daughter Earlyne Roberts; step daughters Lisa Kuntz and LaCon Sublet, and step son Bobby Ledlow. Her grandchildren Angela Shifflet, husband Ralph; Brian Stubbs, wife Kerry; Andy Stubbs, wife Karen; Multiple Great Grandchildren and five Great, Great, Grandchildren.

P.S. All Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren called her "GreatMother".

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Shirley Hughes and husband Ed; her son Ben Elkins.

Rosemary had a long and blessed life and made the world a better place. Go with God, my precious Mother. Hurry-catch up with Daddy Bob, Ben, and Shirley (Sissy!) in heaven.
