Rosemary B Barnes

Jan 29, 1950 — Jun 17, 2026

Hoover, Alabama

Rosemary Barnes (née Birmingham), 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and went on to be with her Lord and Savior on June 17, 2026. She was born January 29, 1950 in Tupelo, MS.

A long-time resident of Hoover, Alabama, she will be long remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, strength, and the love she shared with those around her. She touched many lives with her loving spirit and generosity and devotion to her family. Her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her father William Birmingham, her mother Rose Birmingham and sister Nancy Walters. She is survived by her husband Don Barnes, two sons Scott Barnes(Kelly), and Brett Barnes, and two cherished grandchildren Peyton Barnes and Reagan Barnes.

Rosemary was a graduate of Athens State University. She served as a contracting officer with The Department of Defense for 20 years. After retirement she spent the rest of her life loving and enjoying her family, finding her greatest joy in being a grandmother.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Rosemary lived her life guided by grace, compassion and a deep belief in God. Her faith provided strength throughout her life and served as an example to those around her. She found comfort in God’s promises and shared that comfort with family and friends through her kindness, encouragement and unwavering love.

Family was the center of Rosemary’s life. She sincerely enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s baseball and softball games to encourage them, cheer for them and celebrate with them. Some of these were from early morning until late night but Granny was always there. Rosemary also found great satisfaction in going on family beach vacations. She especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the ocean waves.

Rosemary’s legacy of love, faith, compassion and dedication to family will live on through all of those lives she has touched. She will be remembered for the warmth she shared, the memories she created and the unconditional love she gave to her family and friends.

The family is grateful for the love, prayers and support shown during this difficult time. While we mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing that through her faith in Jesus

Christ she has been welcomed into her eternal home and the family will join her there in the future.
