Ronta Thompson

Ronta Thompson passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the age of 38. He was a native of Jacksonville, Alabama, where he played baseball at Jacksonville High School. He served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force and was currently a resident of Trussville. He was preceded in death by his stepdad, James White; his grandparents, Ellen and Lawrence Boyd, Sr. and Dan Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Liana Thompson; 4 children, Lela Currie, Jada Thompson, Nora and Nolan Thompson; his mother, Linda White; his father, Zachary Thompson; 2 brothers, Danny Thompson (Bridgette) and Christopher Thompson (Lauren); a sister, Shaunte Denton (Chandler); his grandmother, Inez Thompson; his father and mother in law, Phil and Julie Currie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Cane Creek Church, 6143 Weaver Rd, Anniston, AL. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Jacksonville.
