GORNATI, ROBERT "BOB", 93, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on day, May 12, 2026. A beloved husband, devoted father, and faithful Catholic, Bob lived a life deeply rooted in family and faith.
Bob was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Mary and Joesph Gornati. He was a man of warm character and quiet strength, cherished by all who knew him. Throughout his life, Bob held a tender and abiding devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary, whose intercession he trusted.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Gornati; his parents, Mary and Joseph Gornati; his sister, Theresa Schmid (Robert); his brothers, Joe and Johnny; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Gornati; and nephew, Tommy Hanebrink.
Bob survived by his sons, Gary Gornati (Sandi) and Scott Gornati; his daughters, Robyn Reeder (John Giangrosso) and Traci Cooper; seven grandchildren, Nicholas and Tyler Kumpee, Marti Gornati, Randy and Michael Reeder, Mark Naugle (Rachel), and Brian Naugle (Leeza), along with six great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend special gratitude to his devoted caregiver and cherished friend, Gloria McQueen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with Funeral Mass following at St Peter's Apostle Catholic Church, Hoover, Alabama. Inurnment will follow at 2:30 p.m. Prince of Peace Catholic Church's columbarium.
May the Blessed Mother Mary lead him gently into the arms of her Son, Jesus Christ.
