Robert Jones

Robert Duane Jones, resident of West Blocton, loved by all who knew him, passed away on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025. Duane was born on August 19, 1934 to Carl and Mavis Fulton Jones. After graduating from Bond High School in Mississippi Duane began working from 1959 to 1973 as a car salesperson for Drennen Motor Company in Bessemer, Alabama. He was employed by Ivan Leonard Chevrolet in Hoover, Alabama as a Sales Manager from 1973 until his retirement in 2004 at which time he moved from Pelham, Alabama to Guntersville to live ith his daughter Anjanette. In 2018 Duane moved West Blocton to be close to his son Todd.

Duane is survived by his cherised children, Robert Todd Jones of West Blocton and Julia Anjanette Jones of Bali, Indonesia. He also leaves the Mother of his children and best friend Jonette Ross, his loved grandchildren Madeline Ruth Arnold, Chloe Louise Arnold, and Matthew Miller Arnold, brother-Sterling Jones (Joan), Sarah Bates (Kenneth), all of Philadelphia, MS and Rene Vick, Decatur, AL and a host of nephews and neices.

A service of remembrance and thanksgiving for his life will be held on Monday, November 17th at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 at West Blocton Church of Christ, West Blocton, AL. Duane was a man of deep roots, a great love of Alabama football but above all, we will remember his unwavering love of his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed.
