Richard Rushing, Sr

Richard Earl Rushing, Sr. of Hoover passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the age of 69. He is a member of the Baptist Church at McAdory and a former member of Hunter Street Baptist Church. He recently retired from Drummond Coal with over 40 years’ service in the coal industry. He was a long time business owner of Pearson Reality Company in Bessemer and Trillion Digital Communications. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Sue Rushing; a son, Rick Rushing (Mylenda); a daughter Paige Kessler (Rob); a step-son, Jay Bridges (Angie); a step-daughter, Keri Como (Jerry); grandchildren, Christen & Zach Rushing, Brooke Kessler, Kimberly Chambers, Justin Bridges, Heather Newell, Katelyn Bridges and Sara Poehl; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Selby and Bobby Rushing; a sister, JoAnn Como; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2015, from 5-7 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 26 2015 at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bill McCall officiating.
