Raymond Crawford

passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the age of 87. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a Navy SeaBee in the South Pacific. In September of 2008, he went on the Veterans Honor Flight to Washington, DC to visit the WWII Memorial. He was a member of North Park Baptist Church for over 50 years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Alice Crawford; his parents, William H and Ali J Crawford; four sisters, Mabel Hill, Eula Taylor, Emmerdell Armstrong, and Vera Crawford; four brothers, Edward, Ernest, Alvin and Almon Crawford and a son-in-law, Steve D Walls. He is survived by a daughter, Catherine C. Walls; two nieces, Evelyn Thomas and Bernice Crawford; a nephew, Hylott L Armstrong. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 2-4 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover, AL. A graveside service will follow at 4 PM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
