Rachel Louise Holcomb

Rachel Louise Holcomb, age 97, of Hoover, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, lived several places before living in Birmingham a majority of her life. She worked in the banking business for over 35 years at BTNT and SouthTrust Bank. She loved her job.  

She became a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in 1956 and was an active member for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She never met a stranger, was a loving and caring individual, and the best mother anyone could ever want. She is survived by her son, Clifford Jackson “Jack” Holcomb, her brother, Danny Brown of Mississippi, numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16th from 10:30-11:00 at the Chapel at Hunter Street Baptist Church with burial at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Memory Gardens, Jasper, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Suki Foundation at sukifoundation.org.
