On March 4, 2026 our beloved mother, Peggy Brodie Mangum was called home to be with the Lord. She was 95 years old. Peggy lived her life rooted in faith, devoted to Christ and guided by the teachings of the Word of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Olene Brodie and her sister, Betty Brodie Ragland. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Stephanie L. Hudman (Larry) of Ooltewah, TN and Jana Mangum Stivers (Mark) of Gadsden, AL and her sister, Rosine Brodie Moon as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mom loved sports! She participated on many high school teams as well as neighborhood pick up games. If you knew her at all, you knew was an Auburn Tiger through and through! She planned her Saturdays around the Tiger’s football games. During her latter years, if Auburn games were on TV she would be watching!
Her life was dedicated to the work of her Lord in organizations such as Cristian Endeavor and the Single Mom’s Ministry of Shades Mountain Community Church. She sought to show others the love of the Lord and how they could experience this for themselves.
While we grieve our mother’s passing from this earth, we find solace in the reality of Christ’s resurrection and the assurance and the assurance that we will one day be reunited in Heaven.
The family will welcome friends and visitors from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Mom really wanted a celebration of her life and not the mourning of her death, so per her request please wear bright happy colors!
In lieu of flowers, plants are appreciated or contributions made to The Carnation Foundation which is a 501C3 that provides financial and emotional assistance to hospice and palliative care patients, their families and care giving staff.
