Peggy S. Haywood of Vestavia, AL, age 95, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026. She was a member of Cahaba Heights United Methodist Church and a retired elementary school teacher. She received her BA and MAA degrees from Samford University. Her husband, Dr. J.T. Haywood,Jr.passed before her. Her late parents were Alvis and Alice Higgins. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Kostakis (John), son Dr. John Tomothy Haywood (Anita), grandchildren, Jonathon Kostakis (Katie), Laurel Lunceford (Jon), Dr. John Tyler (Jessie), Allie Haywood and James Haywood. Great -grandchildren, Charlotte and Jackson Haywood. A private graveside service will ne held for family members only.
