Patricia Davenport

Patricia Ann Davenport, lovingly known as Pat, Mother, and Granny, age 88 of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025. She was born on May 1, 1937 in Monessen, Pennsylvania to Howard Richard and Anne Kusenko Dennis. Pat was a longtime devoted employee of Pizitz and UAB Special Studies before retiring. After retiring from UAB, she worked for Samford University. Pat was a joyful, caring, and loving person with a kind, gentle spirit who loved the Lord and loved people. She was a Christ-follower who lived out God's word, and shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met. She was a member of The Church at Brook Hills for over twenty years and most recently a member of Shades Crest Baptist Church. She deeply loved her family but also loved animals, especially birds, butterflies, and her dog Rosie. She was cherished and greatly loved by her family, friends, and everyone that knew her.

Pat is survived by her three daughters, Patti (Denis) Tanner, Peggy (Bill) McCormick, and Pamela Harris, stepdaughters, Donna (Mickey) Petty, Jo Ann (Roger) Williams, Debbie (David) Browne, her sister Ellen (Tom) Staner, her nine grandchildren, Nicole(Craig) Thomas, Sheila (Tyler) Dawson, Matthew (Kacey) Epperson, Andrew Tanner, Jenna (Adam) Witcher, Daniel (Mary Rose) Tanner, Caleb (Haley) Tanner, Hannah Harris, Ella Harris, 14 great grandchildren, and her nephew Tom (Maribel) Staner. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John Davenport.

Funeral services for Pat will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. in the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the same location. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home is located at 2701 John Hopkins Pkwy in Hoover, Al.
