Orville Huffstutler

Orville “Bert” Huffstutler, 93, of Loganville, GA passed away on October 26 2022 at Piedmont Eastside Hospital in Snellville, GA of Congestive Heart Failure.

Bert was born on March 29, 1929 in Vinemont, Alabama to John and Clementine Huffstutler. He married Floree Killough on July 16, 1954 at his Father’s house in Cullman, Alabama.

He quit school at the age of 16 due to his Mother’s illness. He later went back to school and graduated from Glenn High School in 1958.

He started work at the age of 16 at a gas station close to his home. He was drafted into the Army and was stationed in S.C. for basic training, then went to CA and NV where he was a part of testing THE BOMB. Once he got out of the service he moved to Birmingham, Alabama and became a city Bus Driver. He loved to socialize so this was a great job for him. He also worked part time at Edwards Chevrolet .

His Children, Bill and Cindy, were raised in Central Park, a great large neighborhood where Bert knew almost everyone. Even though he worked long hours and lots of week ends he was at the ball park all through his son’s childhood.

They moved to Alabaster, Alabama once the kids were grown, where they made quick friends with many and loved living there. Moving to Loganville late in life was hard on them both but they made the most of it.

A huge goal in life for Bert was to make someone laugh every day. He felt that anytime someone laughs they are forgetting their problems for just that long. Bert was very good at getting people to laugh.

Survived by Daughter-in-law, Sherlene Huffstutler, Daughter, Lucinda “Cindy” Kennedy, Grandchildren, Mike Kennedy, Stephanie Kennedy, Tracy Huffstutler, John Kennedy, David Huffstutler, Karen Huffstutler, Great Grandchildren, Ethan Mitchell, Kyle Rice, Kayla Burns, Bailey Kennedy, Brinnley Kennedy, Kayla Young, Jacen Kennedy, Raistlin Kennedy, Evelyn Huffstutler, Diana Huffstutler.

Family that left this life before him are Parents John Huffstutler in January 1979, Clementine Huffstutler, Mamie Huffstutler, all of his Siblings, Wife, Flo Huffstutler in November 2015, Son, Bill Huffstutler in September 2008 and Son-in-law, Steve Kennedy in July 2021.

Bert will be put to rest on November 6th, 2022 in Hoover, Alabama. Visitation will be at 1 pm and Funeral Services will be at 2 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens 2701 John Hawking Parkway Hoover, AL.
