Norris Dean Shake died November 26, 2023 in Hospice Care in Birmingham, AL surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Seymour, IN on September 4, 1932, he spent his formative years in Louisville, KY. After graduating from Ahrens Trade High School, Norris enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Following his military service, Norris married Charlotte Pearce on July 16, 1955. His career as an executive in chemical sales moved the family to four different states, culminating in his retirement in April 1992 from MacDermid Inc, in Waterbury, CT.
They retired to Tellico Village, TN where Norris enjoyed playing golf, working at the village computer club, traveling with family and friends, and hosting many family gatherings. Additionally, he was a Kentucky Colonel, a Mason, and a member of the American Legion Post #256.
Survived by his wife Charlotte, daughters Deena Rosswurm, Fort Wayne, IN, Lisa (Chris) Phillips, Birmingham, AL, son Brian (Kathy) Shake, Daphne, AL, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren (two more on the way).
Norris was preceded in death by his parents Gabriel and Bernice Shake, and his brothers Wilbur and Hugh Shake.
The memorial service will be held later in Louisville, KY. Memorials may be directed in memory of Norris to either the Tellico Village Computer Club or the Tellico Village Volunteer Fire Department.
