Norman Shumaker

of McCalla, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2005, at the age of 77. He was a member of Lakeview Community Church of God and was known as a preacher's friend. He loved people and was loved by all. Mr. Shumaker was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Audrey Shumaker and a brother, W. J. Shumaker. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carolyn Shumaker; a son, Tip Shumaker (Cathy) of Bessemer; two step-sons, Randy Shelton (Libby) of Oneonta and Kenneth Shelton (Sandy) of McCalla; a daughter, Nancy Densmore (Pete) of Bessemer; a step-daughter, Donna Smith (David) of Tuscaloosa; twelve grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Terry Shumaker (Linda) of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Hilda Bean (Earmel) of Oakridge, TN and Vicki Goggins (Jack) of Bessemer. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 27, 2005, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Melvin Massey and Rev. Kenneth R. Shelton officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Cemetery. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
