Nadine Cockrum

Mrs. Nadine Whitt Cockrum of Hoover, AL passed away January 21, 2024 due to prolonged illness. Funeral services will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover.

She was born and raised in Attalla, AL on September 11, 1939. After graduating from secretarial school in Birmingham she began her career in bookkeeping. After marrying in 1957, she had five children and helped to raise two step-daughters. Later, she started her own business and continued her 66 year career as an accountant and tax preparer. She loved God, her work and her family. She had a fondness for the Atlanta Braves and lifetime fan of Alabama football.

She is preceded in death by her parents TV and Francis Whitt, her husband James Ireland Cockrum and her two brothers Van and Oscar Whitt. She is survived by two brothers, Steve Whitt (Angie) and Harry Whitt (Jennie) as well as her children and step-daughters: Wanda Klock (Dick), Brenda Gravitt, Ricky Cockrum (Elizabeth), Shane Cockrum (Terri), Troy Cockrum, Ginger Clark and Mandy Duncan. She also is survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
