Mrs. Maurece Glass Thornton, of Hoover, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at age 92. She was a graduate of Barry Women's College in Miami. She lived her life in Coral Gables, FL, and then in Birmingham. She was an executive secretary for years and retired from AT&T. She loved spending time in her garden and tending to her flowers. She was preceded in death by her 6 siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Albert Gray Thornton; 4 nieces, Terri G. Owen, Lisa P. Sundy, Gay G. Miller and Sherry Glass; and her sister-in-law, Betty L. Glass.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2016, from 12-1PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. The service will follow in the chapel at 1PM.
