Mattie Hopper, Jr

Mr. Mattie "Dee" Hopper, Jr., of Pelham, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, at the age of 91. He retired from South Central Bell as a supervisor after 38 years of service. Mr. Hopper served our country in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sarah E. Hopper; stepdaughter, Linda Russell (Ron); and several nieces and nephews. A private family graveside will be conducted at his entombment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family wishes to express special thanks to New Beacon Hospice, who has been a tremendous blessing in the few days they were in Mattie's life.
