Mrs. Mary Frances Vines, 90, of Alabaster, AL passed away on October 25, 2021. She was born and raised in Wylam, Alabama. Frances attended Wylam Elementary and Ensley High School. She met Jimmy Vines while a student at Ensley and they married in 1950. They were blessed with 5 children living in Wylam. In 1966, they moved to Central Park and were part of a wonderful community at the Central Park ballpark. Mom was an outstanding mother and lived an amazing Christian life. In later years, Jimmy and Frances moved to Shannon. After his passing, Frances relocated in Weatherly to be near her children and grandchildren. Frances was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She attended Oak Mountain Church of Christ where she had so many great relationships.
Frances is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy Vines; son-in-law, Bill Mullins; brothers, Gene Cashion, Tony Cashion, and Philip Cashion; and sisters, Doris Crook, Ruth Hayden, and Debra Cashion.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Mullins; sons, Tommy (Brenda) Vines, Del (Patti) Vines, Richie (Annette) Vines, and Barry (Sandy) Vines; grandchildren, Melissa Mullins, Bill Mullins (Kim), Jennifer Vines Bray (Robert), Christopher Thomas Vines, Travis Vines (Kellyn), Barry Christopher Vines, Jr. (Stacy), Aaron Vines (Jessica), Nicole Wilson (Daniel), Kerri Golden (Chris), Blake Vines (Devin), and Jackson Weaver; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Cashion and Roy Cashion; and sister, Phyllis Wright.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The funeral service will begin from the chapel at 11:00am with Brother Bob Hutto officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
We would like to thank the caregivers for Mom at Shelby Baptist and Columbiana Health and Rehab. The family requests donations be made in memory of her to Oak Mountain Church of Christ.
