Mary Anna Watterson

Mary Anna Watterson, age 71, passed away on January 27 at her home in Birmingham, AL. She was born in Birmingham on September 11, 1954 and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1975 with a B.S. in Business Administration. In 1993 Mary Anna earned her Associate of Science degree in Nursing at Sanford University and practiced for a number of years as an RN in several hospitals and assisted living facilities. She loved working with the elderly and loved her pet cats.

Mary Anna was preceded in death by her parents, James L. Watterson and Sarah H. Watterson of Birmingham. She is survived immediately by her brothers, James L. Watterson, Jr. (Suzie) of Hoover, AL and David A. Watterson (Sherry) of Cypress, TX, along with numerous nephews and nieces. Mary Anna was an active member of Double Oak Community Church in Birmingham where she was blessed with wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at Double Oak Community Church , 115 Olmsted Street, Birmingham, AL 35242 on Sunday, February 15th at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Double Oak Community Church or the Shelby County Humane Society.
