Lucy Godwin

Lucy Goolsby Godwin, age 95, of Hoover, AL went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at her residence.

Born November 24, 1925, to Arthur Benton Goolsby and Emma Lee Pyron Goolsby in Deatsville, Alabama. She was the eldest of the two deceased siblings, Thomas Goolsby and Emily Rooks.

Lucy, known to be a good hearted and devoted Christian woman who could keep house like no other. She settled with her husband, Theodore Jack Godwin (Deceased) in 1956 where they had their only child Timothy Godwin (Joyce). Lucy and Theodore made a home in Hoover, Alabama and never left. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Birmingham.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Augusts 16, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens South, Hoover, AL.
