Lois Jane Bartley Hall

Lois Jane Bartley Hall, 93 died at her home in Leeds, Alabama on March 5, 2024. She was known as Jane throughout her life. After several years of declining health, she was with family when she peacefully passed away. Jane moved from Hoover, Alabama recently after living there for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Wayne Hall, her parents, John Searcy Bartley and Sudie Alma Huffstutler Bartley and a sister, Tommie Sue Bartley Townsend (Paul).

She is survived by daughters Elizabeth Jane Hall, Melanie Sue Harralson (Jim) and Marjorie Lynn Hall, a granddaughter Rebekah Anne Harralson and a sister Ruth Bartley Hovel (Bob, deceased).

Jane was born in Alabama on March 13, 1930, and three months later the family moved to Weslaco, Texas. She graduated from Weslaco High School in 1949 followed by earning her teaching degree from North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas). After her formal education, she began a 30 plus year teaching career in Alabama. Jane was an avid reader and loved traveling. She was a loving wife and mother. Jane’s world was enriched by many good friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00a with a graveside service following at 1:00pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 2701 Highway 150, Hoover, AL 35244 with Chaplain Josh Johnson officiating.
