Linnie Mae Travis

Linnie Mae Hawkins, age 94, of Birmingham, AL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, May 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving son and daughter. Born on June 12, 1929 in Jay, FL, she was the second daughter to the late Harry and Varie Morris. Linnie was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Arthur G, Hawkins, and sisters Louise Moore and Margaret Nutty.

Linnie was a cherished mother to Buddy (Guinn) Hawkins and Lynn (Evan) Herrington. She was a proud grandmother to Jeff (Stace) Hawkins, Chuck (Tammy) Hawkins, Ashli (Carl) Denton, and Chris (Jessica) Gothard. She had 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Linnie is also survived by her siblings Harry Merlin Morris, Enterprise, AL, Joyce Ann Bryan, Wilsonville, AL, and Roy Earl Morris, Robertsdale, AL.

Known for her lively spirit, and love for her family, Linnie spent much of her time caring for those around her. Linnie was a member of Cahaba Heights Baptist Church for many years and served her church family well.

She will be missed and treasured by those who knew her.
